Your Bio

I've always been fascinated with photography and the photographer's ability to tell a story, capture a point in time, create a mood, and develop a work of art.

My first camera was a Polaroid Swinger, and in the 60's it was new and exciting. But it was simple and I never took my abilities beyond point and shoot. In the early 80's I purchased my first 35mm SLR prior to the birth of our first child. Like all new parents the photo albums are filled with anything and everything related to the kids. I attempted what I considered true photography but never got far beyond the automatic settings of the camera although a primitive studio setup in the basement resulted in some surprisingly semi-professional results. In the days of film, however, this approach was very hit and miss.

I purchased a Sony DSC-P150 several years ago and realized that digital offered a way to hit and miss without suffering the cost of film and film processing. Experimentation was cheap, easy and ultimately more productive and worthwhile. And the results I achieved from what I considered just another point and shoot camera were amazing. My interest was whetted and I went bigger and better purchasing a Canon EOS 30D. My Sony is still part of my shooting and is always in my briefcase and close at hand. The Canon, however, is my camera of choice, and although Canon has come out with a newer model this one is still new to me as I continue to learn the controls and gain a comfort level in its use. Nothing yet is second nature.

Please take a look at the photos I have posted. I look forward to your comments and learning from your expertise. My goal is to shoot more often, broaden the vision of my world, and develop my own style. I hope you enjoy what you see.
